Bihar al-Anwar · Allamah al-Majlisi
And I was informed by Al Shareef Ahmad Bin Hamza Al Husayni, and Abu Al Abbas Ahmad Bin Ismail, and Abu Al Raja Muhammad Bin Ali, altogether from Abu Al Mufazzal Al Shaybani, from Ahmad Bin Abdullah Bin Muhammad Al Saqafi, from Muhammad Bin Ali Bin Khalaf, from Musa Bin Ja’far Al Himeyri, from Abdullah Bin Muhaymin Al Ansary Al Saidy, from his father, from his grandfather Sahl Bin Sa’ad who said, ‘While Abu Zarrra was seated with a group of companions of Rasool-Allahsaww, and on that day I was among them, when Aliasws Bin Abu Talibasws emerged to us. Abu Zarrra looked at himasws then turned hisra face toward the people and said, ‘What is the matter with you regarding the love a manasws – for whom the sins would drop from the one who loves himasws just as the stormy wind drops the dry leaves from the tree? Ira heard your Prophetsaww say that for himasws’. They said, ‘Who is he, O Abu Zarrra? ’ Hera said, ‘He is that man coming towards you, sonasws of the uncleas of your Prophetsaww. I heard himsaww saying: ‘Aliasws is the door of mysaww knowledge, and the clarifier for mysaww community of what Isaww am Sent with, from after mesaww. Loving himasws is the Eman (faith) and hating himasws is hypocrisy, and looking at himas with kindness and cordiality is (an act of) worship. And I heard Rasool-Allahsaww saying: ‘An example of People of mysaww Household among mysaww community is an example of the ship of Noahas. One who sails it is saved and one who turns away from it is destroyed, and an example of the door of Hitta among the children of Israel’. Then heasws said: ‘O Abu Zarrra! One who works for his Hereafter, Allahazwj would Suffice him of his world and his Hereafter, and one who is good between him and Allahazwj, Allahazwj would Suffice him of that which is between him and Hisazwj servants, and one who is good in private, Allahazwj would be good of his public matters. Luqmanas the wise said to hisas son, and heas was advising him: ‘O myas son! Who is that who sought Allahazwj Mighty and Majestic but could not find Himazwj? And who is that who sheltered to Allahazwj and Heazwj did not Defend him? One is that who relied upon Allahazwj and Heazwj did not Suffice him? ’
Then heasws went, meaning Aliasws. Abu Zarrra said, ‘By the Oneazwj in Whose Hand is the soul of Abu Zarrra! There is no community who took a leader’ – or said, ‘A man took a leader, and among them is one who is more knowledgeable with Allahazwj and Hisazwj Religion than he is, except that their affairs went down through the drain (lower)’’.
