شا، الإرشاد مِنْ كَلَامِ أَمِيرِ الْمُؤْمِنِينَ صَلَوَاتُ اللَّهِ عَلَيْهِ: حِينَ دَخَلَ الْبَصْرَةَ وَ جَمَعَ أَصْحَابَهُ فَحَرَّضَهُمْ عَلَى الْجِهَادِ وَ كَانَ مِمَّا قَالَ- عِبَادَ اللَّهِ انْهَدُوا إِلَى هَؤُلَاءِ الْقَوْمِ مُنْشَرِحَةً صُدُورُكُمْ بِقِتَالِهِمْ فَإِنَّهُمْ نَكَثُوا بَيْعَتِي وَ أَخْرَجُوا ابْنَ حُنَيْفٍ عَامِلِي بَعْدَ الضَّرْبِ الْمُبَرِّحِ وَ الْعُقُوبَةِ الشَّدِيدَةِ وَ قَتَلُوا السَّبَابِجَةَ وَ مَثَّلُوا بِحَكِيمِ بْنِ جَبَلَةَ الْعَبْدِيِّ وَ قَتَلُوا رِجَالًا صَالِحِينَ
ثُمَّ تَتَبَّعُوا مِنْهُمْ مَنْ نَجَا يَأْخُذُونَهُمْ فِي كُلِّ حَائِطٍ وَ تَحْتَ كُلِّ رَابِيَةٍ ثُمَّ يَأْتُونَ بِهِمْ فَيَضْرِبُونَ رِقَابَهُمْ صَبْراً مَا لَهُمْ قاتَلَهُمُ اللَّهُ أَنَّى يُؤْفَكُونَ*
انْهَدُوا إِلَيْهِمْ وَ كُونُوا أَشِدَّاءَ عَلَيْهِمْ وَ الْقَوْهُمْ صَابِرِينَ مُحْتَسِبِينَ تَعْلَمُونَ أَنَّكُمْ مُنَازِلُوهُمْ وَ مُقَاتِلُوهُمْ وَ لَقَدْ وَطَّنْتُمْ أَنْفُسَكُمْ عَلَى الطَّعْنِ الدَّعْسِيِ وَ الضَّرْبِ الطِّلَحْفِيِّ وَ مُبَارَزَةِ الْأَقْرَانِ وَ أَيُّ امْرِئٍ أَحَسَّ مِنْ نَفْسِهِ رِبَاطَةَ جَأْشٍ عِنْدَ اللِّقَاءِ وَ رَأَى مِنْ أَحَدٍ مِنْ إِخْوَانِهِ فَشَلًا فَلْيَذُبَّ عَنْ أَخِيهِ الَّذِي فُضِّلَ عَلَيْهِ كَمَا يَذُبُّ عَنْ نَفْسِهِ فَلَوْ شَاءَ اللَّهُ لَجَعَلَهُ مِثْلَهُ.
(The book) ‘Al-Irshad’ – From a speech of Amir Al-Momineen-asws when he-asws entered Al-Basra and gathered his-asws companions. He-asws incited them upon the Jihad, and it was from what he-asws said: ‘Servants of Allah-azwj! Rush towards these people, expanding your chests for fighting them, for they have broken my-asws allegiance, and they expelled my-asws office bearer Ibn Huneyf after extreme hitting, and the severe punishment, and they killed Al-Sabbahaja, and they trampled Hakeen Bin Jabala Al-Abdy, and they have killed righteous men. Then they pursued the ones who had escaped, seizing them in every wall and under every flag. Then they came with them and struck off their necks in captivity. What is the matter with them? May Allah Fight them! How deluded they are [9: 30]. Rush towards them, and be severe upon them, and meet them being patient, anticipating, knowing that you will be declining them and killing them. Establish yourselves upon the hard-stepped stabbing, and the severe strikes, and paired duels! And whichever person is good from himself of standing, composed, and sees defeat from one of his brothers, let him pull (the enemy) away from his brother, which is preferred upon him just as he would pull him away from himself, and if Allah-azwj Desired, He-azwj would Make an example to be for him’’.
