Hadith 268

(The book) ‘Kunz’ of Karajaky, from the judge Asad Bin Ibrahim Al Sulamy, and he as from the obstinate adversaries, from Muhammad Bin Ahmad Al Hanzalil, from Abdullah Bin Ahmad Bin Aamir, from Muhammad Bin Yunus, from Ahmad Bin Maza’a, from Muhammad Bin Yaqoub, and Muaz Bin Hakeem, from Abdul Al Razzaq, from Ma’mar, from Al Zuhri, from Awf Bin Malik Al Mazini, from Ibn Abbas who said, ‘I saw Abu Zarr Al-Ghifari-ra attaching with a ring of the Sacred House of Allah-azwj, and he-ra was saying, ‘O you people! One who knows me-asws, so he has known me-ra, and one who does not know me-asws, I-ra inform him with my-ra name. I-ra am Jundab Al-Rabzi Abu Zarr Al-Ghifari-ra! I-ra saw Rasool-Allah-saww during the past season (of Hajj) and he-saww had grabbed this ring and he-saww was saying: ‘O you people! Even if you were to Fast until you become like the strings, and pray Salat until you become (curved) like the bows, and supplicate until you are cut into pieces (and) pieces, the you hate Ali-asws Bin Abu Talib-asws, Allah-azwj would Decree you to be in the Fire’. Then he-saww said: ‘Stand, O Abu Al-Hassan-asws, and place your-asws five (fingers) in my-saww five (fingers), meaning your-asws palm in my-saww palm, for Allah-azwj has Chosen me-saww and you-asws from a tree, I-saww am its root and you-asws are its branch. The one who cuts is roots, Allah-azwj would Fling him upon his face into the Fire’. Then he-saww said: ‘Ali-asws is (I-saww am) chief of the Messengers-as and (Ali-asws is) Imam-asws of the pious. He-asws will kill the allegiance-breakers, and the deviants, and the rejectors. Ali-asws is from me-saww at the status of Haroun-as from Musa-as, except there would be no Prophet-saww after me-saww’’. [161]
