جا، المجالس للمفيد عَلِيُّ بْنُ بِلَالٍ عَنْ أَحْمَدَ بْنِ الْحُسَيْنِ عَنْ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ إِسْمَاعِيلَ عَنْ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ الصَّلْتِ عَنْ أَبِي لُزَيْبَةَ عَنْ عَطَاءٍ عَنِ ابْنِ جُبَيْرٍ عَنِ ابْنِ عَبَّاسٍ قَالَ: لَمَّا نَزَلَ عَلَى رَسُولِ اللَّهِ ص إِنَّا أَعْطَيْناكَ الْكَوْثَرَ قَالَ لَهُ عَلِيُّ بْنُ أَبِي طَالِبٍ ع مَا هُوَ الْكَوْثَرُ يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ قَالَ نَهَرٌ أَكْرَمَنِيَ اللَّهُ بِهِ
قَالَ عَلِيٌّ ع إِنَّ هَذَا النَّهَرَ شَرِيفٌ فَانْعَتْهُ لَنَا يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ قَالَ نَعَمْ يَا عَلِيُّ الْكَوْثَرُ نَهَرٌ يَجْرِي تَحْتَ عَرْشِ اللَّهِ عَزَّ وَ جَلَّ مَاؤُهُ أَشَدُّ بَيَاضاً مِنَ اللَّبَنِ وَ أَحْلَى مِنَ الْعَسَلِ وَ أَلْيَنُ مِنَ الزَّبَدِ حَصَاهُ الزَّبَرْجَدُ وَ الْيَاقُوتُ وَ الْمَرْجَانُ حَشِيشُهُ الزَّعْفَرَانُ تُرَابُهُ الْمِسْكُ الْأَذْفَرُ قَوَاعِدُهُ تَحْتَ عَرْشِ اللَّهِ عَزَّ وَ جَلَّ
ثُمَّ ضَرَبَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ص يَدَهُ عَلَى جَنْبِ أَمِيرِ الْمُؤْمِنِينَ عَلِيٍّ ع وَ قَالَ يَا عَلِيُّ إِنَّ هَذَا النَّهَرَ لِي وَ لَكَ وَ لِمُحِبِّيكَ مِنْ بَعْدِي.
(The book) ‘Al Majaalis’ of Al Mufeed – Ali Bin Bilal, from Ahmad Bin Al Husayn, from Muhammad Bin Ismail, from Muhammad Bin Al Salt, from Abu Luzeyba, from Ata’a, from Ibn Jubeyr, from Ibn Abbas who said, ‘When it was Revealed unto Rasool-Allah-saww: Indeed, We Gave you Al-Kawser [108: 1] (Surah Al-Kausar), Ali-asws Bin Abu Talib-asws said to him-saww: ‘What is Al-Kawser, O Rasool-Allah-saww? ’ He-saww said: ‘A river Allah-azwj has Honoured with’’. Ali-asws said: ‘This is a noble river. It has been Favoured to us-asws, O Rasool-Allah-saww? ’ He-saww said: ‘Yes, O Ali-asws! Al-Kawser is a river flowing beneath the Throne of Allah-azwj Mighty and Majestic. Its water is more intensely whiter than the milk, and sweeter than the honey, and softer than the butter. Its pebbles are of emeralds and rubies and coral. Its grass is of saffron, its soil is of yellow musk. Its base is beneath the Throne of Allah-azwj Mighty and Majestic’. Then Rasool-Allah-saww struck his hand upon a side of Amir Al-Momineen-asws Ali-asws and said: ‘O Ali-asws! This river is for me-saww and you-asws, and for the one who loves you-asws from after me-saww’’. [205]
