قَالَ وَ رَوَى صَالِحُ بْنُ صَدَقَةَ عَنْ إِسْمَاعِيلَ بْنِ زِيَادٍ عَنِ الشَّعْبِيِ أَنَّ عَلِيّاً ع قَدِمَ مِنَ الْبَصْرَةِ مُسْتَهَلَّ رَجَبٍ وَ أَقَامَ بِهَا سَبْعَةَ عَشَرَ شَهْراً يَجْرِي الْكُتُبُ فِيمَا بَيْنَهُ وَ بَيْنَ مُعَاوِيَةَ وَ عَمْرِو بْنِ الْعَاصِ.
He said, ‘And it is reported by Salih Bin Sadaqah, from Ismail Bin Ziyad, from Al Shaby, ‘Ali-asws arrived from Al-Basra at the crescent of Rajab, and stayed at it for seventeen months. There flowed the letters between him-asws and Muawiya and Amro Bin Al Aas’’. [24]
