(The book) ‘Al-Khisaal’ – Al Husayn Bin Ahmad Al Astardabady Al Adl, from his grandfather, from Muhammad Bin Ahmad Al Jurhany, from Ismail Bin Aban, from Zafir Bin Suleyman, from Israil, from Abdullah Bin Shareek Al Aamiry, from Al Haris Bin Sa’alba who said, ‘I said to Sa’ad, ‘Have you witnessed anything from the virtues of Ali-asws? ’ He said, ‘Yes, I have witnessed four virtues being for him, and the fifth I have witnessed it, even if one of these were to be for me, it would have been more beloved to me than the red camel. Rasool-Allah-saww send Abu Bakr with (Surah) Bara’a, then sent Ali-asws and took it back from him. Abu Bakr returned and said, ‘O Rasool-Allah-saww! Has anything been Revealed regarding me? ’ He-saww said: ‘No. No one should deliver it on my-saww behalf except a man from me-saww’. And Rasool-Allah-saww closed down the doors which were in the Masjid and left the door of Ali-asws (open). They said, ‘You-saww have closed the doors and left his-asws door! ’ He-saww said: ‘It was not I-saww who closed them nor did I-saww leave it’. He said, ‘And Rasool-Allah-saww sent Umar Bin Al-Khattab and another man to Khyber. They both returned defeated. The Prophet-saww said: ‘I-saww shall give the flag to a man who loves Allah-azwj and His-azwj Rasool-saww, and Allah-azwj and His-azwj Rasool-saww love him-asws’, among a lot of praise. More than one (person) presented for it, but he-asws called Ali-asws and gave him-asws the flag. He-asws did not return until Granted victory to him-asws. And the fourth was on the day of Ghadeer Khumm. Rasool-Allah-saww held a hand of Ali-asws and raised it until the whiteness of his-saww armpits were seen. The Prophet-saww said: ‘Am I-saww not foremost with you all than your own selves? ’ They said, ‘Yes’. He-saww said: ‘So, the one whose Master I-saww was, so Ali-asws is his Master. And the fifth, Rasool-Allah-saww had left him-asws behind among his-saww family, then he-asws joined with him-saww. He-saww said to him-asws: ‘You-asws are from me-saww at the status of Haroun-as from Musa-as, except surely there is no Prophet-saww after me-saww’’. [22]
