(The book) ‘Tibb Al-Aimma-asws’, may the greetings be upon them-asws – Ahmad Bin Muhammad Bin Al Jaroud, from Muhammad Bin Isa, from Dawood Bin Razeyq who said, ‘I complained to Abu Abdullah-asws and said, ‘O son-asws of Rasool-Allah-saww! Yesterday a vein throbbed within me. It did not settle until morning, so I have come to you-asws seeking shelter! ’
He-asws said: ‘Place your hand upon the place which it has throbbed upon you, and say three times, ‘Allah-azwj! Allah-azwj! Allah-azwj is my Lord-azwj truly! ’, for it shall settle in its very time’’. [157]
And from Al Mufazzal Bin Umar, ‘From Abu Abdullah-asws having said: ‘Take from me-asws, O Mufazzal, an amulet for the pains, all of them, from the throbbing veins and others. Say, ‘In the name of Allah-azwj, and by Allah‑azwj! How many bounties there are for Allah-azwj in a still vein and a stirring vein, upon a thankful servant and an unthankful servant! ’
And hold your beard with your right hand after the Prescribed Salat, and say, ‘O Allah-azwj! Relieve my distress, and Hasten my well-being, and Remove my harm! ’ – three times, and try for that to be with tears and crying’’. [158]
And from Al Mufazzal, ‘From Abu Abdullah-asws having said: ‘Zayn Al-Abideen-asws used to seek Refuge for his-asws family members with this amulet, and he-asws had taught it to his-asws special ones: ‘Place your hand upon your mouth and say, ‘In the Name of Allah-azwj! In the Name of Allah-azwj! In the Name of Allah-azwj, and by the Handiwork of Allah Who has Made everything precisely; surely He is Aware of what you are doing [27: 88]! ’
Then you should say, ‘Settle down, O you pain! I ask you by Allah-azwj, my Lord-azwj and your Lord-azwj and Lord-azwj of all things, to Whom have settled whatever is in the night and the day, and He-azwj is the All-Hearing, the All-Knowing! ’ – seven times’’. [159]
