كِتَابُ النَّوَادِرِ لِعَلِيِّ بْنِ أَسْبَاطٍ، عَنْ بَعْضِ أَصْحَابِهِ رَوَاهُ قَالَ إِنَّ أَبَا جَعْفَرٍ ع قَالَ: كَانَ أَبِي مَبْطُوناً يَوْمَ قُتِلَ أَبُوهُ صَلَوَاتُ اللَّهِ عَلَيْهِمَا وَ كَانَ فِي الْخَيْمَةِ وَ كُنْتُ أَرَى مَوَالِيَنَا كَيْفَ يَخْتَلِفُونَ مَعَهُ يُتْبِعُونَهُ بِالْمَاءِ يَشُدُّ عَلَى الْمَيْمَنَةِ مَرَّةً وَ عَلَى الْمَيْسَرَةِ مَرَّةً وَ عَلَى الْقَلْبِ مَرَّةً
وَ لَقَدْ قَتَلُوهُ قَتْلَةً نَهَى رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ص أَنْ يُقْتَلَ بِهَا الْكِلَابُ لَقَدْ قُتِلَ بِالسَّيْفِ وَ السِّنَانِ وَ بِالْحِجَارَةِ وَ بِالْخَشَبِ وَ بِالْعَصَا وَ لَقَدْ أَوْطَئُوهُ الْخَيْلَ بَعْدَ ذَلِكَ.

Traduction anglaise

‘Kitab Al Nawadir’ of Ali Bin Asbaat, from one of his companions reporting, said, ‘Abu Ja’far-asws said: ‘My-asws father-asws had a stomach illness on the day his-asws father-asws was killed, may the Salawaat of Allah-azwj be upon them-asws both, and he-asws in the tent, and I-asws was seeing our-asws friends, how they were interchanging with him-asws, pursuing the water with him-asws, attacking upon the right flak at times, and upon the left flank at times, and upon the centre at times. And they were killing him-asws with a killing Rasool-Allah-saww had forbidden the dogs to be killed like it. He-asws was killed by the sword, and the blades, and by the rocks, and by the planks, and by the sticks, and he-asws was trampled by the horses after that’’. [45]
