eople are upon the falsehood. The people have united upon it and separated from your rights: Fight them, Allah will Punish them by your hands and Humiliate them and Help you against them, and He would Heal the chests of a Momineen people [9: 14]. Thus, if you do not do so, then Allah-azwj would Punish them by the hands of others’. His-asws companions answered him, they said, ‘O Amir Al-Momineen-asws! Get up with us to (battle) the people whenever you-asws desire to. By Allah-azwj! We do not seek any replacement with you-asws. We shall die with you-asws and live with you-asws’. He-asws said to them being loving to them: ‘By the One-azwj in Whose Hand is my-asws soul! Rasool-Allah-saww looked towards me-asws and I-asws was striking with my-asws sword in front of him-saww. He-saww said: ‘There is neither any sword except Zulfiqar nor any youth (Momin) except Ali-asws’. Then he-saww said to me-asws: ‘O Ali-asws! You-asws are from me-saww at the status of Haroun-as from Musa-as apart from that there is no Prophet-as after me-saww; and your-asws life, O Ali-asws, and your-asws death is with me-saww’. By Allah-azwj! Neither am I-asws lying nor was I-asws lied to, nor am I-asws straying, nor was I-asws strayed with, and I-asws have not forgotten what he-saww had pacted to me-asws. I-asws, in case I-asws forget while I-asws am upon a proof from my-asws Lord-azwj, He-azwj Explained it to His-azwj Prophet-saww and he-saww explained it to me-asws, and I-asws am upon the clear path, I-asws picked it up absolutely’. Then he-asws got up to the people on the day of Thursday, and they fought from when the sun emerged until the redness disappeared. The Salat of the people on that day wasn’t except exclamations of Takbeer during the timings of the Salat. Ali-asws killed on that day with his-asws own hands, five hundred and six people from the community of the people. The people of Syria became calling out, ‘O Ali-asws! Fear Allah-azwj regarding the remainder! ’ And they raised the Qurans upon the ends of the spears’’. [98]
Tafseer Al Qummi – Haroun Bin Muslim, from Mas’ada Bin Sadaqa who said, ‘It is narrated to me by a man from the children of Aday Bin Hatim, from his father, from his grandfather Aday Bin Hatim, ‘And he was with Ali-asws during his-asws wars, ‘Ali-asws said on ‘Laylat Al-Hareer’ at Siffeen when he met (in battle) with Muawiya, raising his-asws voice, his companions heard: ‘I-asws shall kill Muawiya and his companions! ’
Then he-asws said at the end of his-asws words: ‘Allah-azwj so Desires’, lowering his-asws voice with it, and I-asws was near from him, so I-asws said, ‘O Amir Al-Momineen-asws! You-asws vowed upon what you-asws said, then you made an exclusion, so what do you-asws intend with that? ’
He-asws said: ‘The war is a deception and I-asws am truthful in the presence of my-asws companions, so I-asws wanted my-asws companions should covet regarding my-asws words lest they do not become sluggish nor flee, so understand, for you shall benefit with it afterwards, if Allah-azwj the Exalted so Desires’’.
