الحديث 63
Bihar al-Anwar · Allamah al-Majlisi
وَ بِالْإِسْنَادِ يَرْفَعُهُ إِلَى الْمِقْدَادِ بْنِ أَسْوَدَ الْكِنْدِيِّ قَالَ: كُنَّا مَعَ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ ص وَ هُوَ مُتَعَلِّقٌ بِأَسْتَارِ الْكَعْبَةِ وَ هُوَ يَقُولُ اللَّهُمَّ اعْضُدْنِي وَ اشْدُدْ أَزْرِي وَ اشْرَحْ صَدْرِي وَ ارْفَعْ ذِكْرِي
فَنَزَلَ جَبْرَئِيلُ ع وَ قَالَ اقْرَأْ يَا مُحَمَّدُ قَالَ وَ مَا أَقْرَأُ قَالَ اقْرَأْ- أَ لَمْ نَشْرَحْ لَكَ صَدْرَكَ وَ وَضَعْنا عَنْكَ وِزْرَكَ- الَّذِي أَنْقَضَ ظَهْرَكَ- وَ رَفَعْنا لَكَ ذِكْرَكَ بِعَلِيٍّ صِهْرِكَ
فَقَالَ فَقَرَأَهَا ص وَ أَثْبَتَهَا ابْنُ مَسْعُودٍ فِي مُصْحَفِهِ فَأَسْقَطَهَا عُثْمَانُ.
And by chain raising it to Al Miqdad Bin Aswad Al Kindy who said, ‘We were with Rasool-Allah-saww and he-saww was holding to the curtains of the Kabah and he-saww said: ‘O Allah-azwj! Support me-saww and Strengthen my-saww back and Expand my-saww chest and Raise my-saww Zikr! ’
Jibraeel-as descended and said: ‘Recite, O Muhammad-saww! ’ He-saww said: ‘And what shall I-saww recite? ’ He-as said: ‘Did We not Expand your chest for you? [94: 1] And Placed down your burden from you, [94: 2] Which was breaking your back? [94: 3] And We Raised your Zikr for you by Ali-asws, your son-in-law? [94: 4]’. He (the narrator) said, ‘He-azwj recited it and Ibn Masoud affirmed it in his Quran, but Usman dropped it’’. [92]
