Hadith 164

(The book) ‘Da’wat al Rawandy’ –
‘From Muhammad-asws Bin Ali-asws having said: ‘A man from the companions of Al-Reza-asws was sick, so he-asws consoled him. He-asws said: ‘How do you feel? ’ He said, ‘I shall be facing the death after you-asws’ – he meant what he would face due to the severity of his illness. He-asws said: ‘How are you facing it? ’ He said, ‘Severe pain’. He-asws said: ‘You are not facing it. But rather you are facing what you are beginning with it, and you are introduced to some of its state. But rather, the people are to men – one who rests with the death, and one (others) are rested from him. So renew the Eman with Allah-azwj with the Wilayah, you will be resting’. The man did that. Then he said, ‘O son-asws of Rasool-Allah-saww! These here are the Angels of my Lord-azwj with the salutations and the gifts, greeting unto you-asws, and they are standing in front of you-asws, so permit for them to be seated’. Al-Reza-asws said: ‘Be seated, O Angels of my-asws Lord-azwj! ’ Then he-asws said to the patient: ‘Ask them, have they been Commanded with the standing in my-asws presence? ’
The patient said, ‘I asked them, and they mentioned that even if all the ones from the Angels whom Allah-azwj has Created, they would be standing to you-asws and will not sit down until you-asws permit for them! That is how Allah-azwj Mighty and Majestic has Commanded them’. Then the man closed his eyes and said, ‘The greetings be unto you-asws, O son-asws of Rasool-Allah-saww! This appearance of yours-asws is an example for me with the appearance of Muhammad-saww and the ones from the Imams-asws after him-saww! ’ And the man passed away’’. [181]
