يج، الخرائج و الجرائح رُوِيَ أَنَّهُ لَمَّا انْصَرَفَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ص مِنْ خَيْبَرَ رَاجِعاً إِلَى الْمَدِينَةِ قَالَ جَابِرٌ وَ صِرْنَا عَلَى وَادٍ عَظِيمٍ قَدِ امْتَلَأَ بِالْمَاءِ فَقَاسُوا عُمْقَهُ بِرُمْحٍ فَلَمْ يَبْلُغْ قَعْرَهُ فَنَزَلَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ص وَ قَالَ اللَّهُمَّ أَعْطِنَا الْيَوْمَ آيَةً مِنْ آيَاتِ أَنْبِيَائِكَ وَ رُسُلِكَ
ثُمَّ ضَرَبَ الْمَاءَ بِقَضِيبِهِ وَ اسْتَوَى عَلَى رَاحِلَتِهِ ثُمَّ قَالَ سِيرُوا خَلْفِي بِاسْمِ اللَّهِ فَمَضَتْ رَاحِلَتُهُ عَلَى وَجْهِ الْمَاءِ فَاتَّبَعَهُ النَّاسُ عَلَى رَوَاحِلِهِمْ وَ دَوَابِّهِمْ فَلَمْ تَتَرَطَّبْ أَخْفَافُهَا وَ لَا حَوَافِرُهَا.
(The book) ‘Al-Kharaij Wa Al-Jaraih – It is reported that when Rasool-Allah-saww left from Khyber returning to Al-Medina, Jabir said, ‘And we came to a big valley which was filled with water. We measured its depth with a spear but it did not reach its bottom. So, Rasool-Allah-saww descended and said: ‘O Allah-azwj! Give us a Sign today from the Signs of Your-azwj Prophets-as and Your-azwj Messengers-as’. Then he-saww struck the water with his-saww stick and sat upon his-saww ride, then said: ‘Travel behind me-saww in the Name of Allah-azwj! ’ His-saww ride passed upon the surface of the water and the people followed him-saww upon their rides and their animals, and it neither wet their shoes nor their hooves’’. [32]
