Bihar al-Anwar · Allamah al-Majlisi
وَ رَوَى الشَّيْخُ الطُّوسِيُّ رَحِمَهُ اللَّهُ بِإِسْنَادِهِ عَنْ جَابِرٍ عَنْ أَبِي جَعْفَرٍ عَنْ أَبِيهِ عَنْ جَدِّهِ ص أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ ص قَالَ لِعَلِيٍّ ع أَنْتَ الَّذِي احْتَجَّ اللَّهُ بِكَ فِي ابْتِدَائِهِ الْخَلْقَ حَيْثُ أَقَامَهُمْ أَشْبَاحاً
فَقَالَ لَهُمْ أَ لَسْتُ بِرَبِّكُمْ قالُوا بَلى قَالَ مُحَمَّدٌ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ قَالُوا بَلَى قَالَ وَ عَلِيٌّ أَمِيرُ الْمُؤْمِنِينَ فَأَبَى الْخَلْقُ كُلُّهُمْ جَمِيعاً إِلَّا اسْتِكْبَاراً وَ عَتَوْا عَنْ وَلَايَتِكَ إِلَّا نَفَرٌ قَلِيلٌ وَ هُمْ أَقَلُّ الْقَلِيلِ وَ هُمْ أَصْحَابُ الْيَمِينِ.
And it is reported by the sheykh Al Tusi, by his chain from Jabir, ‘From Abu Ja’far-asws, from his-asws father-asws, from his-asws grandfather-asws: ‘Rasool-Allah-saww said to Ali-asws: ‘You-asws are the one who Allah-azwj Argued the creatures by in the beginning when He-azwj Stood them as resemblances. He-azwj Said to them: “Am I not your Lord? ” They said, ‘Yes, we testify’ [7: 172]. He-azwj Said: “And Muhammad-saww is My-azwj Rasool-saww? ” They said, ‘Yes’. He-azwj Said: “And Ali-asws is Emir of the Momineen? ” The creatures refused, all of them in their entirety only out of arrogance, and they revolted from your-asws Wilayah, except for a small number, and they were few of the few, and they are companions of the right’’. [4]
