Tafseer Furaat Bin Ibrahim – Muhammad Bin Ahmad Bin usman Bin Daleel, transmitting from Abu Saeed Al Khudri who said, ‘Six persons from Quraysh came during the era of Abu Bakr, and said to him, ‘O Abu Saeed! This man regarding whom they are (talking) regarding him, more or less’. He said, ‘Whom are you asking about? ’ They said, ‘We are asking about Ali-asws Bin Abu Talib-asws’. He said, ‘But, you are asking me about a man who is bitterer than the Oleander (a poisonous plant), and sweeter than the honey, and lighter than the feather, and heavier than the mountain. But, by Allah-azwj! He-asws is not sweet except upon the tongue of the pious, nor light except upon hearts of the Momineen. By Allah-azwj! He-asws is not bitter upon the tongue of anyone except upon the tongue of a Kafir, nor heavy upon the heart of anyone except upon the heart of a hypocrite. And neither would anyone impeded (his-asws right from him-asws, nor shun, nor be sluggish, nor belie, nor transfer (to someone else), turn away from him-asws, nor stray, nor boast, nor astound, and these are seventeen phrases, except Allah-azwj would Resurrect him as a hypocrite from the hypocrites, and there is no Ali-asws except I intend nor do I intend except Ali-asws: ‘And they shall come to know, those who are being unjust, which overturning they would be Overturned with [26: 227]’’.
